"I know you're cute but....
We had to take the rail off the crib a few months ago because Luc was jumping out an average of 7 times in 10 mins. I should have just bought one of those crib tent things. But no, I have to be all nice and humane..."I don't put my kids on a leash! I'm not going to put Luc in a crate!" After walking him back to bed countless times this evening (well every evening unless I keep him up until 9:30) .... I'm thinking that it was a good thing he was so good in Target tonight (no running and chasing, he just held my hand like a little sweetie), because I might have had to go pick up a crate & leash and start calling him Sparky.
This issue of toddlers not being able to control their impulses can drive a girl mad!

The Birthday Princess

Every morning I think, “Fuck it’s 5:30 again. I am definitely getting to bed before 10:30 tonight!” Yeah right. I can’t turn my brain off like that. Once Max gets to bed it’s almost 9. At which point I have to clean up a little around the house or pay some bills or try to brush off some family member on the phone….yadda, yadda. Calgon! Take me away!
So here it is almost 1am. Hopefully I won’t be too burnt tomorrow at work. Friday evenings are the worst. I’m always tired from the week…fuckin old lady.
Saturday is my birthday. I hadn’t been looking forward it, until the other day when I was in the company of some women who were 40 . One of them mentioned that at 28, I’m just a baby. While I was watching them giggle and roll their eyes, I realized that I am only about to be 28, NOT 38, like I feel. And that however tired I feel right now…. It’s all good because when Luc graduates, I’ll be 45! THAT’S FUCKING AWESOME!Sunday, May 15, 2005

My 3rd Child is leaving home.
Someone is coming to buy my portable dishwasher this afternoon. In fact it’s being picked up at 1pm so I won’t be able to say goodbye. I’m sad, I love my dishwasher. It has nice soft-touch digital buttons. It’s so pretty and still really new.
We had a dishwasher when Max was a baby and then we moved to a house without one when Max was 10mos old. That sucked!
I ran out and bought a portable when I was 3 months pregnant with Luc. I couldn’t bear the thought of washing all the bottles by hand every day. I spent over $500 after tax and delivery. It’s a great machine. I’m bummed that we can’t take it with us. Our new house has a built-in that isn’t as groovy. Although the idea of a built-in is nice, it’s older and not as pretty. I feel like I’m leaving behind the family pet. HAHA!
As geeky as my sad story sounds, I can top it. When I was in junior high and early high school, if I was depressed, my Dad would take me to Sears and let me hang out in the Major Household Appliances. It cheered me up every time!
This dishwasher is the first appliance that I pick out and purchased myself…Well, there was the microwave but that’s not nearly as exciting.
Anyway, I’m bummed. But don’t cry for me! I’m going to move on. I think I’m going to start lobbying for a new fridge!Wednesday, April 13, 2005
It's worth it in the end
Only 17 more nights in our sweet little house. 18 days of packing and cleaning and emptying out the fridge. (I haven’t seen the back of the freezer in over a year.) I feel like I’m rationing out the groceries. “Just eat PBJ’s for lunch when your hot lunch tickets run out. I don’t wanna buy lunchmeat and pack it down to the new house.” HUH?
Moving was way easier when Max was small and an only child. He had no opinions and ate whatever we gave him. And had a lot less shit to move! DUUDE this kid has so much stuff! He has his own fucking studio to pack, on top of his and Luc’s bedroom and all the freakin toys!
The great thing is that besides becoming a crazed, psycho relocating, bitch over the next couple weeks I can add hormones to the list. If you pray…. pray for the men in my house.
It’ll be over soon enough. We just need to get outta here and move on to the next phase.
